Joseph DeLappe transformed himself into Mahatma Gandhi to recreate these events in Second Life. Joseph DeLappe has since retired the avatar representing Gandhi but has re-emerged as Joseph Grommet. Joseph Grommet in real life is a performance artist and an activist. He uses gaming and the internet for his peace activism in the most unusual ways not just recreation.
