As some of you may have noticed, we took a little vacation last week on Dirtfield Races! Although the races weren't aired, I thought it'd be cool to update you guys on what all went down this past Sunday, as well let you know what to expect this week on the show!

Last week, three divisions had heated battles on the banks of the Dirtfield Raceway. The Pure Stocks, Sprint Cars, and Dirt Modifieds all had some pretty competitive races. When the dirt clods fell to earth once more, Ryde Thor had come up one race short of a hat trick.

In Pure Stock action, the cars took to the oval course for the first time in the season, and Ryde Thor quickly showed his V&B Racing entry was the vehicle to beat. Late in the race, Zaria Falconer mounted a charge, but had to deal with pressure from Subwoofer Fuhr from behind. Ultimately Thor drove away to the victory by just over a second.

So far Thor is undefeated in Pure Stocks this season. Here's the final Pure Stock results from this past Sunday, and the points standings.

Pure Stock Finishings: 1/24/10
1st. Ryde Thor, 30 laps. Total Time : 472.762
2nd. Zaria Falconer, -1.536 seconds.
3rd. Subwoofer Fuhr, -2.565 seconds.
4th. Landis Allen, -7.960 seconds.
5th. Bren Blackheart, -1 laps.
6th. Gage Pastorelli, -2 laps.
7th. Vickster Kuhn, -2 laps.
8th. Am Luponox, -7 laps.

Purestock points:
(Wins, Podiums, Top 5's)

1. Ryde Thor - 100 (2, 2, 2)
2. Zaria Falconer - 96 (0, 2, 2)
3. Gage Pastorelli - 86 (0, 1, 1)
4. Subwoofer Fuhr - 84 (0, 1, 1)
5. Vickster Kuhn - 82 (0, 0, 1)
6. Bren Blackheart - 78 (0, 0, 1)
7. Landis Allen - 44 (0, 0, 1)
8. Stephen Hinchcliffe - 42 (0, 0, 1)
9. Nicholas Huillermeyer - 40
10. Am Luponox - 36
11. Urantia Jewell - 34
12. Aherm Mauer - 32

In Sprint Car action, things got wild fast. Lap one, turn three, four cars piled into the outside barrier one after the other in a huge mixup that put several cars in some seriously hot water. Vickster Kuhn, who appeared strong early took the most violent hit, dropping from 2nd all the way to last. Once things sorted out, Ryde Thor had managed to avoid enough of the accidents that he had a shot for the win. Ultimately he came out on top, and scored another one in the "W" column for V&B Racing.

Once again Zaria Falconer and Subwoofer Fuhr came out second and third making it two in a row for them both.

Here's the finishing order and points for Sprint Cars:

Sprint Car Finishing: 1/24/10
1st. Ryde Thor, 30 laps. Total Time : 370.236
2nd. Zaria Falconer, -2.348 seconds.
3rd. Subwoofer Fuhr, -11.097 seconds.
4th. Hoss Republic, -1 laps.
5th. Landis Allen, -1 laps.
6th. Bren Blackheart, -1 laps.
7th. Vickster Kuhn, -26 laps.

Sprint Car points:
(Wins, Podiums, Top 5's)
1. Ryde Thor - 100 (2, 2, 2)
2. Zaria Falconer - 96 (0, 2, 2)
3. Subwoofer Fuhr - 90 (0, 1, 2)
4. Vickster Kuhn - 78
5. Bren Blackheart - 76
6. Urantia Jewell - 46 (0, 1, 1)
7. Hoss Republic - 44 (0, 0, 1)
8. Stephen Hinchcliffe - 42 (0, 0, 1)
8. Landis Allen - 42 (0, 0, 1)
10. Nicholas Huillermeyer - 34

Finally, in Dirt Modified action this past week, Zaria Falconer once again showed her supremacy in the "half open-wheel" Dirt Modified cars. Her #27 IMCA styled machine has seen Victory Lane twice now this season.

Mango Birdbrain challenged early, although he ended up getting into the dry stuff a little much, and ultimately faded to fourth. Ryde Thor backed up his earlier season win this season with a strong second place showing, followed by Subwoofer Fuhr in third. That would be one of his best finishes this season.

Once again Gage Pastorelli placed fifth, for a third week in a row.

Here's a look at the finishing order:

1st. Zaria Falconer, 35 laps. Total Time : 464.958
2nd. Ryde Thor, -1.595 seconds.
3rd. Subwoofer Fuhr, -3.855 seconds.
4th. Mango Birdbrain, -4.730 seconds.
5th. Gage Pastorelli, -11.191 seconds.
6th. Landis Allen, -1 laps.
7th. Hoss Republic, -2 laps.
8th. Vickster Kuhn, -24 laps.
9th. Bren Blackheart, -30 laps.

And a look at Dirt Modified points coming into this week's show. Zaria Falconer, Ryde Thor, and Mango Birdbrain are all quite close in points -- but don't count off Sub Fuhr, Gage Pastorelli, or Bren Blackheart. Even Vickster Kuhn could make things interesting.

1. Zaria Falconer - 146 (1, 3, 3)
2. Ryde Thor - 144 (1, 3, 3)
2. Mango Birdbrain - 142 (1, 2, 3)
4. Subwoofer Fuhr - 134 (0, 1, 3)
5. Gage Pastorelli - 116 (0, 0, 2)
6. Bren Blackheart - 112
7. Vickster Kuhn - 100
8. Landis Allen - 78
9. Urantia Jewell - 42 (0, 0, 1)
10. Stephen Hinchcliffe - 40
11. Hoss Republic - 38
12. Nicholas Huillermeyer - 36
13. Aherm Mauer - 30

This week, the TROO cars return, along with the Super Late Models, and of course, the Dirt Modifieds.

Co-Announcer Caz Freschi hopping behind the wheel of the #22 CFM machine once again. This week he's looking to make up for a dismal 8th place finish in the season's first race.

"I don't know what went wrong. The car really wasn't steering for me. A couple laps in, the power steering just died," said Freschi, last season's champion.

The trio of Thor, Falconer and Fuhr were the cars to beat in the first TROO race during week #2 (you can watch that here on Treet!) Mango Birdbrain and Vickster Kuhn rounded out the top five. This week, everything's up in the air again.

The Super Late Model division has been the home of the slidejob this season, and the driver on the delivering end of most of those slide-jobs? Ryde Thor. So far the #7 V&B driver has piloted his Mark 8 race car to victory lane once, and is looking to double up. Fuhr and Falconer -- just as in every single other division , might just have something to say about that. We'll see this Sunday at 4:00 PM SLT! Don't miss this one!
