The season finale of Sail On takes us to the Honah Lee course and uncharted water. What better way to say So Long to MarkTwain White and the Sail On crew as they take a break from broadcasting.
Episode 65 Broadcast 1 March 2009
Sail On was a very popular weekly show featuring the Sunday Regattas held in the United Sailing Sims.
Hosted by the inimitable MarkTwain White and Aislin Keynes, there was never a dull moment as we tracked the flying fizzes, takos and the European style Skutsjesilen boats around the expansive water sims to the finish line.
The show ended in March 2009 after a grand total of 65 episodes.
Praise of the show poured in after the announcement that it was ending it’s broadcast run.
"The SAILON show has been an enormous contribution to the development of sailing in SL and to the forming of the community we have today."  Mothgirl Dibou
"Can’t say enough about what this show has meant to me over the last year and a half. It was what brought me into SL sailing to begin with (and what kept me from leaving SL when things looked pretty bleak back then.)"  Heidi Stiglitz
"Thank you for 65 fantastic episodes of Sail On. I enjoy watching them at my SL house and hearing them while I’m doing work at my RL house. Thanks again for providing such an entertaining show to sailing fans."  Zen Paine
"I know more than most how time consuming making films are and even if its a live stream (ie no editing or post production) it still requires people time and narration direction and so on i suppose this is a lot to ask of Mark as the landscape changes."  Surfwidow Beaumont
"What a sad loss to our sailing calender; I may not have been able to attend every event but I was always looking forwards to seeing the broadcasts.
SailOn kept my interest in SL alive when I had thought of giving it all up nearly two years ago so I will miss it a lot."  Gemma Vukovic
