Every month we try to get off the main course and try something new. Well it's that time of year again the Skybeam sims have been around for 5 years now So the snails are here to help celebrate. We have a new longer route this year Charlene Trudeau has really gone through some extensive revamping of the route and found a way to make the race through the 25 sims twice as long, Were doing 2 laps this time. So twice the fun!

7 Years of Giant Snail Racing

I still say were the longest running running weekly event in Second Life!! We've been doing it since this week in 2004. 3 years before Treet found us. We'll this Sunday we turn 7 and there will be tons of cake this year. 7th Birthday Cake7th Birthday Cake
Especially since we can finally stretch every prim to 64 meters, We rebuilt the cake to new massive proportions. There will be explosions and snail races and well see if our brave daredevil Snail Dude will finally splash safely into the water filled bucket.

The Giant Snails are coming back to the Elf sims this Month. The Elf sims were the very first place we ever had a race not on the regular course, many years ago. So in a way they invented the road trip races and it's great to be back!

Season 5 Starts Sunday for the Giant Snail Races.If you want to try snail racing come on down to the track and try the tutorial or click on the Waelyas school of snails sign. Or IM RacerX Gullwing Well try to get you set up but be warned you need a great pc and a fast isp to be competitive. But it's also about the fun of racing and winning isn't everything we also have a competition each week for best of theme snail each week. Where you take our full perm snail and mod it to go with the weeks theme. So were all about art too.

The Giant Snails are leaving Hawthorne I deleted the course a couple hours ago. No tears though we have a brand new course set up at Devon Dream. Thanks to Safra Nitley For letting us have almost a whole sim of space at 777 meters up http://slurl.com/secondlife/Devon%20Dream/153/103/777 The new course is Diabolical we saved the best parts of the old course and made them even better and there is a few new things too. Were still firing a cow at the gate to start the race then there's a choice of the road or chance a spring to get you to the top of the shark tank then across the bouncy balls to a small stretch of traffic jammed road to the 3 sets of toll booths collecting money to someday finish the bridge over the small town of Snail A Topia, So till it's done were using a spring or 2 to get you to the top of bouncy shroom mountain then it's off to the maze on steroids yes same moving maze but since we had room we made it huge snail size then a choice of spring or take the ramp with cows boulders and lava balls only now you can't just hug the sides and duck if you do you'll fall because now the whole ramp is moving back and fourth yes this is the best track so far people are saying. Well should be great fun see ya there every Saturday 9:00am for practice and 11:00 am Sunday for the real races.

On April 17th The biggest best most spectacular Giant Snail Race ever Is Happening and hopefully every single Relay team will be represented. We will be crossing 51 sims running down the streets of Second Life with all the many built in obstacles like those damn hit and run Driver less cars that run you over and just keep on going, The Many Bridges built right on the sim borders that let you fall through just when you think you made it to the other side, The combination info hub and shelter sim of Isabele that will probably be full that day and force us to find our own way around it, And of course the crazy amount of lag that a hundred snails will create trying to just move through them crashing and lagging off into space.
